ARTIST BIO

A printmaker by trade, Wiley Reid combines both historical methods of image making such as lithography, intaglio, and drawing, with more contemporary methods such as mixed media and innovative digital fabrication. Reid uses this variety of traditional and nontraditional approaches to image making as a way of addressing subject matter that has both historical gravity and relevance to our time. Reid’s work often presents an allegorical view of the history of the sciences, with a principal focus in exploring the poetic dimensions of scientific inquiry and our quest for knowledge and truth.

Born and raised in the Hill Country of Central Texas, Wiley has shown in various cities across the state, and has completed several years of study at the University of North Texas in the fields of art and anthropology. He currently works out of Denton, Texas.
